If we build it, they will come
Professor Reinaldo Rios (pictured above) is a local elementary school teacher from Lajas, Puerto Rico. Rios is now 39 years old. He sports a shock of dark hair and a goatee. He has been communicating with uforc.com for nearly a decade now. He maintains hope that someday, we will make direct contact with aliens. His dreams have never diminished over the years; they have only grown stronger. Rios is very persistent about getting the message out: Extraterrestrials are visiting Lajas, Puerto Rico. He has sent numerous updates, sighting reports and articles to the UFORC. He continues to monitor this UFO flap area. He regularly updates the UFO research center from this remote corner of Puerto Rico. Professor Rios claims to have been communicating with alien visitors since he was 13 years old. It began with a brilliant, white light that burst into his room. The light entered his body and cured him of a back injury that he'd suffered while playing basketball. Many of the townspeople have seen UFOs in the area, including Mayor Marcos Irizarry. During a recent interview, the mayor said "allot of people have seen these things," and that Lajas was a "very mysterious place." Many believe that a UFO crashed on Indian Hill back in the year 1997. They claim to have heard a boom and saw the hill go up in flames. Professor Rios heads a group called "UFO International." The group holds regular, nighttime vigils to watch for signs of extraterrestrial life. Reinaldo has erected a sign on a local rancher's property. The sign faces the road and proudly displays a flying saucer on it. The sign reads: "Extraterrestrial Route." The professor now plans on building a UFO landing strip to welcome otherworldly visitors. Rios can't say, "when they will come," but he knows that "it will happen." He estimates that the project could cost anywhere from US $100,000 dollars on up. The landing strip would be 80-feet long and have pyramids as control towers because aliens are attracted to the shape.
The locals as well as many others are getting involved. The mayor is helping to get the proper paperwork in order to facilitate the landing strip's construction. Francisco Negron, the rancher who put up the sign on his property, has offered his land as well. Negron has even gained the necessary permits to build the road up Indian Hill, the site for the UFO landing strip. Professor Reinaldo Rios lets Negron worry about investment costs and permits while he envisions the design. Rios and Negron are now accepting funding from private companies. Their contribution will help pioneer this one-of-a-kind landing strip for visitors from other worlds. Hundreds of visitors have come to check out the Extraterrestrial Route since the sign went up. And Mayor Irizarry hopes that the airport will attract thousands of visitors like Roswell New Mexico, the site of the alleged UFO crash in 1947. As unbelievers continue to scoff at the notion of alien contact, Rios continues to follow his dream of contact. Hundreds of visitors have come to check out the Extraterrestrial Route since the sign went up. There are many who remain convinced that there's extraterrestrial activity over this small, sleepy town of Lajas, Puerto Rico.
