SEATTLE WASHINGTON JANUARY 4, 2007 A 12 year-old Kirkland girl caught a ghostly image on camera during holiday week back in December. The girl, family and a 15-year-old friend were staying at some cabins overlooking a river in Winthrop, Washington. Sometime after sunset, the girls went outside to experiment with a new camera, which the 12-year-old girl had received as a gift. While taking pictures of the snowfall on the trees they saw an object moving and tried to capture it on camera.
When they caught the mysterious object in the photo surrounded by darkness -- the 12 year old ran inside the cabin and showed the picture to her father. Someone said "it could be the Virgin Mary." (REFERENCE 1)
Note: The spectre photographed in Winthrop was seen at tree top level. That’s one of the places where Our Lady of Fatima would appear. On August 19, 1917 a glowing light settled above a tree and on June 13, tree branches were bent. Jacque Vallee underscores the connection between Marian apparitions and the UFO phenomenon. During the incident at Fatima, Portugal on August 13, 1917 a bright flash was seen, along with a luminous orb spinning through the clouds. (REFERENCE 2)

According to author Ray Stanford, people of many countries [and] varied religious backgrounds have seen apparitions of our Lady – including Moslems, Copts, Protestants and Jews. "All witnesses agree that the Lady seemed to be composed of light that usually was intense, yet lessened occassionally. At times the light of the apparition dimmed enough for the slight bluish coloration of her mantle to be seen, also revealing radiant flesh tones that could be perceived in her face. (REFERENCE #3)
